Fine Artist Arthur Secunda's professional history encompasses 60 plus years of fine art experience and distinguished activity as a prominent curator, critic, artist-exhibitor, teacher, and media personality. Internationally acclaimed fine artist whose work are acquired by over 100 museums including The Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Chicago Art Institute, the Detroit Institute of Art, The Smithsonian and National Galleries in Washington D.C., and numerous French, Belgian, Swiss, Swedish, and Japanese museum collections. Exceptional education in multi-media arts, including background in painting and sculpture, graphics, photography, book illustration, ceramics, tapestry, and artists book publishing. Over 140 solo exhibitions as well as articles and works reproduced worldwide. These solo exhibitions include shows at the Musée Reattu in Arles, France, Palm Springs Desert Museum in California, the Contemporary Arts Center in Honolulu, and International Art Fairs at Basel, Paris and New York. Secunda's works are found in many important publics, corporate, and private collections in the United States, Europe, and Asia. His work is found in museums in Paris, Marseilles, Zurich, Ostende (Belgium), Malmo (Sweden), Taipei, Washington D.C., Chicago, Los Angeles, and Honolulu. Corporate collections include Bank of America, Atlantic Richfield Company as well as numerous universities and libraries. Secunda is noted for his brilliant collages and graphics, J.M. Roquette, Director of the Arles Museum has said, "Secunda's collages make use of a very seductive, original, and somewhat mysterious technique in which the actual shredding (of paper) coincides with a very personal philosophy of color." His graphics have been acclaimed in Europe and the United States for their lush color and technical inventiveness.
